Devi Talab Mandir

Devi Talab Mandir is the most prominent place/structure of modern Jalandhar City. It is dedicated to Goddess Durga and is believed to be at least 200 years old.This temple is located in the heart of Jalandhar, just 1 km away from the railway station. This is one of the most beautiful places in Jalandhar. You can experience complete sanity and relaxation. This temple has several temples of various Hindu gods.I felt really nice after visiting the temple. It is almost on the same model as the Golden Temple (Amritsar). They also have a large prototype model of the Vaishno Devi. A very popular temple known for its blessed water pond that is believed to heal all kinds of physical deformities. This temple is spread over large area , on of the most happening religious place in Jalandhar. one can see the imitation of Mata Vaishno Devi cave & shri Amarnath Cave here .

It is basically complex of various temples. Main one, located in the centre enclosed by pond is the Temple of Mother Goddess Durga ( Maa Sherain Wali). It is shakti pith which is one of the 51 shaktipithas which is know as Tripurmalini. Other temples are of oldest Maa Kali temple. Next to it is Sun Temple, Replica of Shri Amarnath is also made on the side, gardens annapurna and living accommodations.

The temple complex also hosts annually “Hariballabh Sangeet Sammelan” is held every year in the precincts of Devi Talab Mandir for the last 125 years. It is the biggest and oldest-living congregation cum competition of North Indian Classical Music.


While the old Devi Talab has been renovated and in its centre, a new temple has been built. Recently a model of Amarnath Yatra has been built in the premises of Devi Talab Mandir. An old temple of goddess Kali also stands to the side of the Devi Talab.The Kali mandir is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas and the Kali is known as Tripurmalini. As the Sati's right breast fell here. Lord Shiva of this temple is called Bhishan Bhairav.
The anterior of Devi Talab Mandir had been invaded several times by Foreign Rulers, but from the shambles has emerged a new gilded Mandir famous for influx of record number of devotees. The gilded Mandir is famous for the Hariballah Sangeet Sammelan held every year in December at its precincts for the past 125 years. Famous classical music exponents - both instrumental and vocal come together and perform at this gathering. In Devi Talab, there is a large masonry 200 year old tank sacred to Hindus.
