Kanha Tiger Reserve

In the district of Madhya Pradesh, India there are many number of national park. Kanha Tiger Reserve is one of them. It is also known as Kanha National Park. This park is one of the prime wildlife and bird watching destination in India. The ideal duration of this place is 1 day. This park was created in 1955 and made Kanha Tiger Reserve in 1973. The area of this park is 940 sq. km. Park remains closed from 1st July to 15th Oct. Kanha National Park can be entered into via four zones. These Zones are :

  • Kanha
  • Khatia
  • Mukki
  • Sarhi

Flora and Fauna

Flora : There are number of flora in Kanha Tiger Reserve. There are 1000 number of flora in this park. There are lowland forest, mixed forest trees and highland forest in this park. Indian ghost tree also seen in this national park. There are number of grass species here. Dense forest zone cover shrubs, climbers and herbs.

Fauna : There are many number of fauna in this national park. There are more than 200 bird species. This park has species of tigers, leopards, wild dogs, wild cats, foxes and jackals. In this national park there are different types of animals and species. These are fox, hyena, jungle cat, civets, porcupine, ratel, spotted deer, samber, barking deer,  swamp deer and four-horned deer etc.

The best time to visit in Pench National Park is from November to February.
